They have a right to a personal life. But if their personal decisions result in a failing becoming public, they are not excused.

For example: Actor loses his wife in a freak skiing action and asks for privacy, he usually gets it.
Actor gets drunk, drives, is pulled over, charged and insults a police officer while doing it, he isn't going to get a claim of "private life" to reduce the coverage. His decisions had consequences.
