I'm not ready to swap a medal drought in womens figure skating for dominance in Nordic Combined

The first time in my lifetime there wasn't a medalist from the US. I think its time to dump a bunch of money into the program and become a machine in the way the USSR could only have dreamed about. I'm talking support for the top 10 or 12 in the Novice ranks at regionals all the way up through Junior and Senior levels to produce true elites. I'm also talking all disciplines, its time we quit being also-rans in pairs.

Note: I do like Mirai's chances in four years, she was a bit of a gawky teenager at 16, she could be a graceful woman at 20. But she can hold down the fort while the machine is being assembled.

Second note: I partly blame pixie for all this. Cohen was the beginning of the end.
