I'm almost sorry that theatre VP apologized.

Really, there's no excuse for what he wrote. But the condescending tone of Sarah's e-mail was no good either.
Responses:
He was probably smart to apologize, but boy oh boy I feel for him.

dude needs to find another line of work if he lets his temper get the better of him like that, though... -- nm

I'm sort of suprised he still has a job.

I've certainly been in a position dealing with customers that would inspire a similar response.

I'm hoping it was a "straw that broke the camel's back" thing and that he didn't go from zero to flying off the handle.

Doesn't accept VISA and the ATM is down? BFD. Get over it. Employee checking to tickets while the movie is playing? obsurd.

I think this is a perfect example of the consumer power of social media.

if I was president of that chain that VP would be fired on the spot. No question. None after that 1st email. -- nm

A customer's got to be a lot more abusive and unreasonable, and I mean a lot, before "GFY" enters a manager's vocabulary. -- nm

I don't think she deserved to have her ass kissed, at all.

I disagree, everything she complained about was valid.

I think what she complained about was valid, but she did it in a pretty condescending way -- nm

She was snarky, as I would be after the experience she had.

Snarky is fine, but it doesn't usually get you what you want. You don't read a letter like hers and automatically think "we'd better fix things"

This is my point. She probably should have expected somewhat of a snarky response, given the tone of her e-mail.

Take out the two sentences that contained the F-Bombs, and he probably gets by going snark for snark. But, once he went there... -- nm
