Well, for Ash Wednesday, they do that creepy mark-on-the-forehead-thing.

I was wondering about stuff like that, I guess. Or even just special services.
Responses:
It may vary by Church, but IME, there's normally a special service around 3pm (which is the time that is observed as Christ's death)
