I'm a bit surprised that we chose to do this given that we're building an armada of defensemen.

Poile thinks we have the combination of defensemen in the majors/minors of anyone in the game. So, it's a bit odd to see us trading for one although I completely understand his logic in doing so.
He's also had the benefit of talking to any number of NHL GMs and coaches during the Olympics, so he has a great handle on the trade market right now.
