In response to "spoils discussion question" by TFox

I thought that it helped (spoils)

to lay the groundwork of how methodically she acted when he was getting tortured in the basement. It also helped (me) see her intelligence in her logical thinking of step-by-step of everything. She thought of revenge, but also of how to control it in the now, and in the future.

Plus, I thought it was fitting of "how the world saw her" (as an easy victim) apart from how she actually was in her mind.
