This crazy guy named Harry Jackson wants it to go to public vote. But the DC equal rights act that everyone spent years developing won't permit that, because it violates an individual's rights.
He asked the DC council, the DC government, and Congress to cancel the equal rights act on the gay marriage idea. And they looked at him like he was crazy.
It is a fascinating case, you should look it up.
