Is it an exploitative reality show or something more positive?
One of my tenants in my Las Vegas house is the strength/conditioning coach at a mma gym and his cousin is one of the finalists for the show. They are at the point where the contestants leave whereever the show is filmed and have to do their own thing for a while before they come back for the final show (I've never seen it but this is how it was explained to me). My tenant would like his cousin to be able to live there and get trained by him. There would be cameras involved and some filming. It would be really good for his career because he'll get national tv time as a trainer. He hasn't asked the other two guys yet because he wanted to know if it's ok with me.
On one hand I think it would be cool if my house was on national TV (there's a workout area set up on the porch and the kitchen would be filmed too), however my impression of the show (which I haven't seen) is that it is exploitative, and I seem to remember seeing a promo where one of the "challenges" involved eating junk food, so I'm not sure how serious it is about helping people.
Does anybody on ST watch the show and what's your impression of how exploitative/helpful the show is?

I'd say it's much more inspirational than exploitive. I think they push their products a little too heavily (and some I think are more questionable

I've only seen a few episodes, but both. The contestants seem to get a lot out of it, but some of the challenges (like tempting people with junk food)

i watch it. while i can't say it's not exploitative, they really do stress the 'get your life back' , 'get healthy', 'inspire America' angle.

I don't think it's exploitative; they test these people though to see how quickly they'll revert
