They're cheap because the processors are whimpy and their CPUs are too. Plus small screen/keyboard. Don't get it as a PC for a kid (plus they lack

CD-ROM/DVD drives most of the time).

Get a cheap desktop from Dell or TigerDirect or something using a Core2Duo (avoid Atom CPU). Shouldn't cost more the $300-400 and you can throw in a $40 graphics card that will rock even some of the most current high end games.
