I actually like the first 50 or so pages of GWTDT, then it went downhill. (spoilers, of course)

I loved the style and storytelling of the beginning piece. Then, we suddenly started meeting every single member of the Vanger family (like 50 of them, it seemed) and I was lost, confused, and annoyed.
