I assume you mean "can't" but here's the thing

we're not saying it's ".33333 and maybe there's a 4 in there somewhere". It's .333.... forever. We know it's all 3s. It's precise, therefore we can combine them. In the same way 1/2 is .500......, but we leave the 0s off because that doesn't make a difference.
