I dislike the whole idea of competetive elections in the first palce, at least as far as a representative assembly is concerned.

I would rather we developed a non-competetive model, where anyone who can demonstrate a certain level of support, say 100,000 votes, gets a seat. that way more people would be able to participate in a meaningful way, as they would be almost guaranteed a voice. As it is, you only get your voice heard if your candidate wins. And naturally, the condidate who wins will use that position to ensure that he continues to do so, rather than meaningfully address the concerns of his constituents.
you anger is all well and justified, but instead of raging blindly at the system, let's find a way to do it better, eh?
