you have to develop issue-spotting skills as a lawyer or doctor to the point where you can have a conversation with your client or patient and at least identify the problem without saying "thanks for coming, i'm going to consult my computer database and then i'll let you know where the problem is" you may not have the answer for them then and there, it may require additional research after the meeting but you won't be in business very long if you can't have a dialogue based on what's in your on gray matter to start with
