Tourism is the oil that drives Cuba and sustains the dictatorship.

You cannot seperate the tourism from the policies. Sure, there's no one saying that general Cubans are great people and that there's a wonderful culture. But some of us find it impossible to ignore the other side knowing what the first line of this IM. I think ML was out of line, but I know I find this, "Oh don't be so uptight/ignorant of the *real* story/whatever," stuff to be equally patronizing.
