i think, really, the key point is, what does it "gets out" mean? that someone knows who otherwise wouldn't.

but it doesn't mean that suddenly *everyone* knows. if there is a CC number leak, not everyone knows your CC number. just some people do. and they don't typically go run and tell everyone.
