It's quite interesting. Units are limited to one unit per tile now so that combat has a much more tactical feel

such that you can have archer up on a hill raining arrows down on a unit while melee units stand between them and the enemy

Another interesting item was use of resources like iron. They now come with caps so that say 1 tile of iron supports 5 iron units. If you build 5, that's it, no more until one is destroyed or you find more iron.
