You've found what you want in religion, but all this stuff about religious people who sin? That's just excuses to avoid blaming religion for the sin.
Religion is a positive force for many people. For too many it is a crutch and a way of avoiding responsibility. It's a way of absolving one's self from wrongdoing. "Well, God forgave me, why can't you?"
When God checks in and starts sharing his opinion, I'll listen, but this crap about needing to find him and listen really hard to hear his wisdom is a load of crap.
If he exists and were the slightest bit interested he'd be engaged and accessible.
"Mysterious ways" is just a fig leaf covering up the fact that he ain't there.
