it surprises me that people still think this way.

that they can plan their life time lines. I'm not saying you can't have a general idea but to precisely say - career at this age, marriage at this age, kids at this age - etc. etc.

if the one comes along - then everything else goes out the door.

If he knew she was the one -he would have pursued her. If she knew he was the one - she would not give up and would not need an advice column to tell her to move on cause he clearly has.
