Cat update: It's not good. Whatever the initial problem was has now turned into complications.

Without any knowledge of what happened, the doctor says his condition is what he has seen in cats that have ingested anti-freeze. I don't think that's it because he stays in our yard, but he absolutely swallowed something toxic.

After a day of i.v. fluids his kidney levels haven't changed and his temp only came up one degree. His phosphorus level is above what it is in a deceased animal, his nitrogen level is toxic, and he's throwing up blood which could be the aspirin ulcerating his stomach. We decided to let them run i.v.'s overnight and see if there's a marked improvement in the morning. If the levels DO improve, then the next step will be blood transfusions and surgery, but the doctor said it would be a 10% chance of survival. We said our goodbyes just in case he passes tonight.
