Funny how it came down to the Vikings and Jets for LaDainian Tomlinson(notes), because they just happened to be the two teams for which another former long-time one-team future Hall of Famer, Brett Favre(notes), has played for since leaving Green Bay.
Well, it turns out, a source told ace Newsday reporter Bob Glauber that Favre was involved in trying to convince Tomlinson to sign with Minnesota. Of course, those efforts failed when L.T. decided to accept a two-year deal with New York on Sunday.
If youre paying attention, what Glaubers discovery really means is that Favre has some sort of stake in what the Vikings do in 2010.
Wait, are we saying what we think were saying? As "shocking" as it sounds, theres a pretty pretty pretty good chance Favre plays another year for the team.
Favre should learn from Tomlinson. Tomlinson clearly told us he didnt want to retire and wanted to keep playing for a contending team for which he was a good fit. How refreshing.
