rar! (toyota appt-making share ahead.)

so I called to make an appt for my camry recalls and scheduled maintenance. I was pleasantly surprised to find I can take it in as early as tomorrow.

the first appointment-maker with whom I spoke said that the only rides they offer are one way from the dealership. (this is an issue as work is not that close and I'd likely rent a car instead of asking for rides.)

me: "but I heard toyota made a deal with the state to offer more than that."

her: "only under special circumstances."

me: "well, I'll have to call back."

I googled the details about the agreement and called back.

different person answered, said the same thing. I asked for a manager, briefly explained, and he instantly said, "we'll get a car for you." he said toyota had said/agreed to all kinds of things, without thinking about dealerships. whatever, vinnie, the car your dealership sold me could kill me! (yah, I know.)

why make us jump through hoops? grr. but go me! ;) -
