When a person gets very, very sick, it does something to them. I've witnessed this first hand. You have to learn to separate what the person thought of you when they were healthy from what they think when they are facing their own mortality. It causes people to say regrettable things.
In short, rather than saying you're not weak, you have to show it by letting all of this go. It's not the right thing to focus upon.
