She is having trouble dealing with the loss she has coming (it's a loss to her too). It may seem irrational but it may be easier on her to feel like she's dying alone than letting down people who are still counting on her. So she cuts everyone off so she doesn't feel like her death is letting people down. I know, it makes no sense, but isolating oneself to avoid causing the loss to be more painful is not uncommon.
