it sounds like talking to a family law attorney for an hour would be helpful to you guys all around

there are multiple issues here, beyond preserving the contents of her estate for the future. if her illness is causing her to engage in dangerous behavior, there are procedures for having a guardian appointed etc. with the legal power to make decisions that she might not have the legal capacity to make (or, if she does now, she might lose that capacity in the future, especially with a brain tumor)
