our extern to hire rate is pretty low, I think, and one of the main reasons given when "no" is the RSVP to "would you hire this person?" is "smells like an ashtray."

I don't know how students are not coached that if they must smoke, they should do it after work and not during. smelling like smoke is more stigma-ish (stigmatic?) than is being obese (hi, james bond. I love your med school posts).
