I survived my brazilian jiu jitsu lesson yesterday and I'm not even that sore, but I have some bruises in odd places.

One of my tenants teaches bjj and he gives me free lessons when I'm in Las Vegas. Each trip he ups the intensity a bit and so far I've been able to keep up (this is actually hugely motivational because I know I need to work out more when I'm at home because I need to be in better shape for the next trip to Las Vegas).
We did some judo too, which was a lot of fun, but for the record, even if you land on 4 inch mats, being thrown hurts. I have a really ugly bruise on the inside of my upper arm and no clue how I got it. I expect stuff on my torso from falls and incidental elbow/knee contact, but I have a mark on my side that looks like an alcoholic's nose, probably just some busted capillaries but it looks weird.
Having a hot tub in my hotel room is actually pretty useful. He offered to do some basic striking with me if I feel up to it later this afternoon. I did some boxing in the military so it shouldn't be that bad.
