most of my friends think i'm nuts to pay rent that high.

"just buy something."
"I can't."
"Well... you have to be able to find something cheaper than that to rent."
"I'm not looking for 'cheapest'."

my friends don't have full families with kids yet, though, so they don't appreciate this like i do yet, i think. (i also am almost positive that they are paying more in interest on their mortgages than i am in rent, so the 'throwing rent money away' argument doesn't hold water with me.)
