I'm a woman who's worked in high tech since 1970 -- and my plumbing caused more gossip (blonde=incompetent) in a 'man's world' than you can ever imagine.

Over time, I've learned that taking the high road is always the best path for me. I sleep better @ night when I do. I really struggle with 'getting into it' when someone decides to 'go off' about me.

What I've also learned that continuing to perform at my highest possible levels is my only saving grace.

Soon enough, others realize that people are people -- there are 'bad matches', 'personality conflicts' and so forth, but I always come out on top.

I'm the only person in charge of building and protecting my own reputation.

No one else has this power over me and my work.

That is all.
