the pay is on the lower end of what a pro/go ecuador site is suggesting is normal.

if you want to do something like that, maybe the peace corps or volunteering with a larger ngo for which there's at least more infrastructure is the way to go instead.
relative to the very poorest of citizens, that's not bad; but relative to what you should expect for bringing the goodness and smartness that is yourself, it's not good.
