So here is the info on my most un-excellent adventure of the last week.
I was in the hospital 2 weeks ago with a bout with pneumonia in 2 upper lobes of my right lung. I was in for 4 days. The released me, told me to continue taking the antibiotics and it would be cleared up completely in a few days. This was on Tuesday. On Saturday I went to see my doc because I was still having a hard time breathing, and coughing up yellow crap. He gave me an inhaler. 2 days later, and I had taken the last Levaquin (Antibiotic) and saw him again, still having issues. He gave me cough medicine.
On Thursday, stayed home from work because I could hardly breathe. I was sent to the ER where, of course, the pneumonia had gotten worse. This would be the end of the story, except that on Saturday night, while sitting in the pulminology ward, my sitting heart rate spiked to 150 btm, and the docs went batshit, and rushed me into the critical cardiac care unit. They slapped a monitor on me and watched as my heart rate was going between 150 and 190 bpm.
Many tests and pills later, they determined that because my lungs were not operating at anywhere near normal capacity, that my heart picked up the slack working harder to put oxygen into my system, and threw itself into an abnormal state. So they gave me some blood thinners (nice shots in the belly) and a couple heart rate regulators. Yesterday, I swallowed a camera for them to take photos to make sure I had no clots. Which came out well, because I am home today, but I have to go back in 2 weeks to get the paddles to regulate my heart back into a normal state, IF it does not do it by itself.
So I have been poked, prodded, and have a total of 10 prescriptions and meds to take over the next 2 weeks. I am wiped out, but damn glad to be home.
