It needs some photos of the dining area and food on plates. The food pics are good but are too small and say to me "stock photos"

And yeah, lose the gray type, fill the site with photos, use up more of the white empty space on every page and do something about the chequered background of the logo. That says Italian to me. The floral designs on the logo are good. Think clean lines for a sushi bar. Sharp, clean and understated would work well I think. Use red and black if you're designing them a logo, that chequered effect is awful. I like your general idea of simplicity but you can achieve that too by using up the white space on pages with colour. Just my 2 cents.
