The problem is that few people fly without some kind of luggage, even just a carry-on. The CEO's justification was that "People don't go to Fedex or UPS and just expect them to ship their package for free." Thing is people don't also go there and expect to get a ticket for them to fly to another city either. He's looking as luggage of any type as a luxury item (in other words just an extra on a trip) instead of necessity. The thing of it is if Spirit offers the cheapest prices and it only costs less for Fedex or UPS to ship it, I'll buy my ticket, ship my luggage and carry a purse.
