Good man! You'd be surprised at how many people don't know that public disclosures kill patent rights.

I'd be interested in helping you (certainly), and anything we discuss is protected by attorney-client confidentiality. We'd have to have a preliminary discussion so I get a sense of what your invention is, and if it's out of my areas of technological expertise -- or if I have a conflict of interest -- then I'd be happy to refer you to a few friends of mine who are also patent lawyers. But even in that case, our preliminary discussions are still confidential.

I'll send you an email. The easiest thing to do would be to talk on the phone sometime after Thanksgiving. And I can answer all the questions you have about timelines, the patent process, estimated costs, billing, etc.
