Groiny, where ya getting your numbers. I see Frenchy as being 1/3 on non-walk 3-0 counts, and 19 for 52 on non-walk 3-1 counts. (nm)

I don't know if he got it or not, but he was on pace to have the most 0-2 counts in a season in MLB history. -- nm

123 oh-two counts in 632 plate appearances in 09. Not sure, but it doesn't seem like a historic number. (nm)

Email Rob Neyer and ask. Going down 0-2 19.4% of the time surely can't happen often. -- nm

A quick google shows Adam Dunn face 121 oh-two's in '04, and that's the first season I looked up.

And there it is: Adam Dunn saw 128 oh-two counts in 2007.

He saw 67 in 324 PA (20.7%) with the Braves, and 56 in 308 PAs (18.2%) with the Mets. He wasn't gonna catch Reynolds (21.7%). (nm)

1% is pretty significant in this sample size. That's 21 more 0-2s.

Check Mark Reynolds if you would for last year. -- nm

Just did. 144 (!) oh-two counts. Yikes. If that's not a record....damn. (nm)

More fun: Reynolds saw 100 oh-two counts in only 414 PAs in '07. That's 0-2 in about 24% of his plate appearances. (nm)

Also, talking about his first pitch batting average is wildly misleading.
