Having now caught up on The Pacific a few thoughts (spoilers just in case)

1. I'm glad Hanks' idiotic thoughts on the war haven't somehow found their way into the story, so far. After hearing his remarks at the premiere(?) I was worried about that.

2. So far, outside of the battle scenes, The Pacific pales in comparison to Band of Brothers. There just seems to be something missing in the storytelling.

3. The battle scenes are everything they should/could be.
