I honestly don't know how I would feel or react if one of my kids came out to me. I'm not religious, so I won't be worried about their eternal soul. I suspect that I would be ok with it as long as they are ok.
I have a sister-in-law who is bi. She is fairly aimless in her career, and she rarely has a partner for longer than a couple of months. She constantly moves from one living arrangement to another. I'm not saying there is a cause-and-effect at work here. I think my fear for my kids would be this scenario -- regardless of their sexual orientation.
