I've never made a formal family-wide announcement. much of the family knows. I presume word has gotten around, but don't know for sure if it's reached all family, and I admit I feel a little awkward at family events sometimes because of it (not sure why, maybe it's the uncomfortable gaping-mouthed "wait, you are???" reaction in front of a room full of family)

your siblings know, even if no one has told them.
