I'm old, and I still have a visceral fear-y reaction to yelling near me (not sporting events, but other situations) because my dad yelled when I was a kidlet.

it can change how kids are, how they themselves react to different things that come up, and that can go into adulthood. at least one of my brothers had to work on that carryover for his own kids.
