You got to start going through with it. Once they don't take you seriously you need to let them know you mean biz.

Again I'm not a parent but I was in a super weird situation at my last job where I kind of became the other parent after my bosses husband died.
I never yelled at the kids. I raised my voice but never yelled. Only a few times when i was angry I, not on purpose, made a face and that meant I meant business. If they didn't do it, I sent them right to there room.
But I don't have heart strings so it was easy for me. I do understand your pain though.
