To your first point, that was what prompted my poll. Beating up firms for shorting stocks in a bear market smacks of grandstanding and looking for a scapegoat for the public to unleash their anger and thereby try to avoid having it aimed at congress in the upcoming election.

But your points about the ratings are excellent questions. And great explanations.
