It has to do with the very nature of language. Language is not absolute. Every written word is open to interpretation. And interpretations

can be VERY dramatically different. If you question that, just take a look at what "a well armed militia" has morphed into.
If perfectly simple non-secular language can be twisted and stretched in so many different directions, by so many different people, all of whom are honestly convinced they have made the *correct* interpretation ... introducing religious language into State mandates can't possibly do anything but muddy the water.
