I watched 3 Christmas specials tonight. All were quite funny, but a bit uneven (as Christmas shows tend to be), Small spoils inside.

Psych Christmas Special--typical lightweight Psych plot with an O. Henry twist. Btw, our eyes aren't deceiving you, they replaced Gus's father and thought we wouldn't notice. I caught it right away. Grade B- normally, B+ for a Christmas show.

Monk Christmas Special--very disjointed story that didn't make a lot of sense and to be honest, was a tad mean. It did redeem itself with a rather interesting (and funny) monastic chant in the end. Grade C normally, for a Christmas special I'll jack it up to a B.

Stephen Colbert's Christmas Special--a ton of guest stars like Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Feist, John Legend, Elvis Costello and Jon Stewart and bears. Some of it was a little hokey, but overall it was brilliant in its sendup of the traditional Christmas episode of regular shows. Regular grade, it gets a solid A, with the Christmas special boost I'll give it an A+. Note: I've really gotten fond of Fiest, I love her voice. I have to say her song was nothing short of brilliant and side splittingly funny. In fact, all the songs are wickedly ironic and you should watch with your closed captioning turned on so you don't miss anything. :)
