There's definitely a tradeoff, but it's a great experience. I've been on the floor for a basketball game and it's the same. You see a different game

The perspective isn't as good. It isn't as easy to see plays develop and such because you're so close (though I found that less of a problem with hockey). But the close up sights and sounds of the game add a different dimension that you don't often experience.
