nascent political career. As in, you feel you have to cut your teeth on the issues to differentiate yourself, but at the same time you have to be seen as reeling it in to appeal to the mainstream in your party - and that's fine, when you're talking to your partymates. I just didn't want to have to listen to it here, after four years of American politics, fundraising, and campaigning.
You're god damned right I don't give a shit about political issues, but that only extends to a point - when it comes to things that will alter what I feel is the spirit of Canada and of being a Canadian altogether, then I will step up and state my bit. And that's what I've been trying to do these past two days, albeit with a bit of (admittedly rude and annoying) facetiousness.
I am Canadian, and I will not stand to see the flames of conflict stoked for political gain. That's what (I feel) you were doing over the Bloc discussion, and that's what I feel Harper was doing over the subsidy thing (and that you're now taking the flag of). (And, that's what I feel the Liberals were doing by using the feeble protestation of "the package doesn't include any stimulus so it's lame" ... that annoyed me a bit, due to the apparent dishonesty there).
