see, I understand vegetarianism is a lifestyle and a life choice, I find it somewhat silly for parents to expect everyone else to adhere to their rule

Kosher is problematic. If one is strict about it, then separate cookware and serving pices, chine, etc are all needed. Not to mention a way to store
