1. It is not a short term thing. You need to devote to it full time to get results. You can mess up one day and fuck up a week's worth of work.
2. It takes roughly a 3200 calorie reduction to drop one pound. So if you are normally eating 2500 calories a day, and you drop it to 2000, you would drop a pound a week. (in theory)
3. It is ok to mess up, everyone does, but you can not compound it by messing up again a day later. Take it one week at a time, and allow yourself one SMALL messup a week. Eventually, you will mess up less because your tastes will change.
