Well, since you put it that way, throw out any game older than 2005, since none of the talents now were playing then.

okay, 2006, Boise was pretty damn good and Oklahoma was in a rebuild year and still sorta got to the BCS games.
Your idea that we can draw on 2003 as a harbinger of Oklahoma's failings forgets that 2000, Stoops won a national title; 2005, the Big 12 won a national title.
This ain't a style difference; those teams just weren't quite up to snuff vs thier opponents. This year's team is pretty damn good.
