But remember scammers will know enough law to suck you in. When you call the Dept of Revenue & you do owe, ask *them* for a copy of your return and any other info they have about your account for that year. You might have to pay for a photocopy of the return. The IRS charges for that but they don't charge for a transcript of the return.
