as my dad kept that from us for days) but we're lucky in that, for the more major stuff (immediate hospitalization or they need emergency help), they'll call one of us three kids and i guess we have an unwritten rule that the first sibling to get contacted lets the other two know right away. at least, the couple of times this has actually happened.
