In response to "If I am unable to talk, I say, "I'm so sorry but I'm unable to talk." I don't pretend the person doesn't exist. -- nm" by loosilu in Algiers

I had a friend in elementary/high school who used to *love* using the silent treatment, for reasons that I am still not sure of.

She'd decide one day that she was mad at me (or someone else) for some random reason, and would go for literally a month without speaking a word to us. Then, out of the blue, she'd be talking to us like nothing had happened. It was very strange.

5 years ago (after hanging out every week since we graduated HS), she decided to stop talking to me. After a few weeks of the unanswered "Ummm, I have no idea if there is something wrong, so could you please call me so we can talk about this?" calls, I finally gave up.

I still have no idea what caused her to stop speaking to me completely. *SO* frustrating.
